Supporting the Future of Healthcare in Western Sydney: Nepean Hospital Redevelopment

At PKF, we’re proud to play a part in delivering flooring works for the Nepean Hospital Redevelopment — one of the major health infrastructure projects shaping the future of healthcare in Western Sydney.

The redevelopment is part of a more than $1 billion expansion and upgrade of Nepean Hospital and community-based health services, being delivered across two stages to support the growing needs of Penrith, the Blue Mountains and surrounding communities.

Stage 1 has already delivered a major transformation of the hospital campus, including a new 14-storey hospital tower, expanded Emergency Department, 18 birthing suites, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, more than 16 operating theatres and more than 200 additional inpatient beds.

Stage 2 continues that momentum with a new seven-storey building designed to connect with the Stage 1 tower and further expand the hospital’s clinical capacity. The works include a new adult Intensive Care Unit, additional inpatient beds, medical imaging and nuclear medicine services, pharmacy, in-centre renal dialysis, staff education and training facilities, and a new main hospital entry and reception area.

For PKF, healthcare flooring is about more than the finished surface. These environments need to be clean, durable, practical and carefully detailed to support the daily demands of a working hospital. From clinical spaces and staff stations through to corridors, patient areas and paediatric spaces, every floor finish plays a role in how the facility looks, performs and functions.

The Nepean Hospital Redevelopment is a project that will support patients, staff, families and the wider Western Sydney community for decades to come. We’re proud to contribute to a facility that is helping deliver modern, accessible and high-quality healthcare closer to home.

PKF is proud to be part of the team helping bring these spaces to life.
