The Sydney Children’s Hospital Stage 1 redevelopment is part of the broader Randwick Health and Innovation Precinct, a $1.5 billion investment to transform healthcare, research, and education in NSW.
The $658 million combined project unites the Sydney Children’s Hospital Stage 1 with Australia’s first Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre (CCCC) — merging clinical care, research, and education under one roof.
Inspired by feedback from over 2,000 children, families, carers, and hospital staff, the facility prioritises a comforting, family-friendly atmosphere. Features include private patient bedrooms, warm communal areas, and spaces that feel more like home than hospital.
The inclusion of culturally appropriate gathering areas for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families exemplifies the project’s commitment to inclusive design.
Key new facilities include:
Working alongside John Holland and NSW Health, PKF installed approximately 18,000 m² of specialist wallcoverings and flooring throughout stage 1 of the project.
It’s a privilege for us to play a part in shaping Australia’s future through projects that matter.
At PKF, we take pride in contributing to vital infrastructure that supports our communities — from hospitals and schools to transport hubs and innovation precincts.
Working on transformative projects like the Sydney Children’s Hospital redevelopment is more than just a job — it’s an opportunity to help build spaces that will serve generations to come.
